Six passengers from “at risk” countries tested Covid-19 positive at Indian airports

A total of six international passengers landed in various Indian airports Thursday morning were tested positive for coronavirus. All the 3,476 passengers who flew in 11 international flights and landed at various airports from “at risk” countries were screened for the infection using RT-PCR  tests. The increased scruitny was as per revised travel rules announced by the government in the wake of a health threat posed by the newly emerged Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.  Samples from these 6 passengers have already been sent to INSACOG labs for whole genomic sequencing and the results are awaited.
