
Study finds no significant difference in cognition or brain MRI after MIND diet
A study found no significant difference in cognition or brain MRI outcomes over a 3-year period between older adults who followed the MIND diet and those on a control diet with mild caloric restriction. The MIND diet is a combination of the Mediterranean and DASH diets, aimed at reducing the risk of dementia. The study was presented at a conference and led by a professor at Rush University. The participants did not have cognitive impairment but had a family history of dementia and suboptimal diets. The study found similar results between the two groups on various measures.
