Tiotropium/Olodaterol therapy found reducing sedentary time in COPD
A study conducted by a group of researchers at the Faculty of Medicine, Saga University, found that chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients with lower inspiratory capacity after being treated with tiotropium/olodaterol, are likely to exhibit reduction in sedentary time. Prolonged sedentary behavior is associated with worse prognosis in patients with COPD.
The researchers said that they analysed the physical activity of 35 COPD patients for 12 weeks before and after the treatment and observed a significant reduction in sedentary time in the tiotropium/olodaterol group compared with the group treated with just tiotropium.
