India reported 2 more cases of Omicron variant of SARS CoV-2 infection, taking the total tally to 23. The country had registered 21 cases till December 6, including nine in Rajasthan and seven in Maharashtra. Most of those who tested positive either recently arrived from African countries or were in contact with such people. With this, four States and the national capital have now reported cases of this potentially more contagious variant of the virus.
