Wireless AI device to monitor asthma, COPD patients
Albus Health, a med-tech startup, has developed a wireless AI device that helps asthmatic and COPD patients to monitor their condition effectively. The device uses sensors and a microphone to monitor people in their sleep by measuring breathing and heart rate and analysing the coughs, wheezing and other noises they make. In addition, the device also reportedly assesses environmental factors such as air pollution and humidity, spotting signs of impending attacks or flare-ups of a condition up to several days in advance. Albus Health hopes that this device could be expanded to include neurological conditions such as dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson’s and restless leg syndrome.
