Academy of Family Physicians of India

The Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI) is a professional academic society,in India. AFPI was founded on 27th August 2010 in New Delhi, India AFPI is a full member of WONCA (World Organization of Family Doctors). AFPI has been founded with the aim of promoting Family Medicine and Primary Healthcare. AFPI as a forum is spearheading the development of academic family medicine in India. AFPI is an equivalent organization in India to the American Academy of Family Physicians, College of Family Physicians of Canada, Royal College of General Practitioners, and Royal Australian College of General Practice. The members include family medicine specialists, practicing family physicians, general practitioners, and medical officers who provide generalist medical care across all age groups, genders, and organ systems.
