About This Course
Many couple face challenge of conceiving due to luteal phase defect. Pregnancy may get complicated due to threatened abortion, recurrent pregnancy loss or preterm birth often linked to immunological factors.
Pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines play significant roles in these complications due to their potent effects on pregnancy. Progesterone, including the natural micronized progesterone, has been studied extensively for its ability to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines and boost anti-inflammatory ones.
The FOGSI certification program on the "Immunomodulatory role of natural
micronized progesterone in obstetric conditions"
is designed to equip obstetricians and skills to effectively utilize the natural micronized
gynecologists with comprehensive knowledge and
progesterone for immunomodulation in threatened
abortion, recurrent pregnancy loss, luteal phase
support & preterm labour.
The course covers three main areas
i.e., understanding progesterone's
importance in luteal phase support and its immunomodulatory effects, exploring
progesterone's role in preventing threatened
abortion/recurrent pregnancy loss and its
impact on immune regulation, and examining
progesterone's immunological role in
preventing preterm labor and its clinical
implications.
Objectives of the module
- Provide a comprehensive
understanding of the
immunomodulatory properties of
natural micronized progesterone.
- Explore the relationship
between progesterone
deficiency and obstetric
complications.
- Discuss the mechanism of action of
progesterone in shifting immune
response towards a favorable
environment for pregnancy maintenance.
- Equip participants with evidence-based strategies for
utilizing natural micronized progesterone in luteal
phase support, threatened abortion/recurrent
pregnancy loss, and prevention of preterm labor.
- Establish clinical competency in prescribing
and monitoring progesterone
supplementation in obstetric practice.
