About This Lecture:
                    
Orofacial pain as a broad terminology may occur due to disease of orofacial structures, generalised musculoskeletal, peripheral or CNS or psychological abnormality or may be a referred pain from cervical muscles or intracranial pathology. These conditions represent a challenge to the clinician. Different individuals respond differently to the identical noxious stimulus. The clinician needs to have a thorough knowledge so as to make a proper diagnosis thereby providing an optimal treatment. This workshop will focus on the diagnosis and management of Orofacial

Dr. Priyadarshini Karthikeyan 
                            
                            

Dr. Priyadarshini Karthikeyan is a faculty of dentistry working in AIMST university since 2016. She is an Alumni of Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital where she obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Surgery in Oral Medicine and Radiology. She acquired her Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research, Hospital and Healthcare Management, Medicolegal systems and Forensic sciences between the years 2008-2012. Later she pursued Fellowship in TMD, Orofacial pain and obstructive Sleep Apnea, from Rossman University.

At present Dr. Priyadarshini Karthikeyan is doing her PhD. on Effect of Environmental Tobacco Smoke on dysbiosis of oral microbiota and oral health of children: A metagenomic study. She has given guest lectures in National and International Conferences. Her publication in Scopus, TR and Q2 value is 28 and overall citations of 150, h and i10 index is 6. She has received Gold medals in International Invention and Innovation in Dentistry, in the year 2020 and 2021.
