About This Course
Objective of the course: To be able to Diagnose and Treat Heart Failure.
To enable the students to develop competencies in areas related to concepts, causative factors, risk factors, dietary factors and modifications and treatment for bariatric surgery.
Obesity is prevalent in the population and has become an important public health challenge. It increases the risk of comorbid conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and several types of cancers. The increasing prevalence of obesity and comorbid conditions worldwide has prompted for effective strategies for both treatment and prevention.The treatment of obesity includes lifestyle changes (dietary restrictions and increased physical activity), the use of medications, and in some cases, surgery.

Dr. Jagmeet Madan
Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science Course Director and FacultyDr Jagmeet Madan is an eminent Nutritionist, Principal and Professor- Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics at Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science (Autonomous) , SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. She is the National President , Indian Dietetic Association (2019-2021). She is a gold medalist and recipient of ‘Young Scientist Award’ and ‘Dr Ramanathan Award’ by the Nutrition Society of India, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad. She is a recipient of the prestigious International Research Grant award - PNPG Grant (Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group – 2017) from American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, USA. She was awarded Maharishi Karve Uttakrishta Shishak Award - 2017 (Best Teacher Award) by the SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai.
Dr. Nisha Bellare
Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science Course FacultyDr.Nisha is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the M.Sc. Specialized Dietetics Department at Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science. She is a Ph.D in Nutrition and Dietetics and her area of interest is clinical nutrition. She is a JRF award holder and a Registered Dietitian from B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai and has a teaching experience of 9 years. Her areas of specialization include Dietetics and Human Nutrition.
Dr. Anuradha Ramesh
Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science Course coordinator and FacultyDr. Anuradha Ramesh, is Assistant Professor, Convener and Coordinator for Self Financed Programs in Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science(Autonomous), SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai.She has a Ph.D in Hospitality Management and has 20 years of teaching experience. Her areas of expertise are in Nutrition, Food science, Food Service Management and Hospitality Management subjects. She has designed curriculum for Nutrition and Hospitality Management specialisation courses for various colleges.
Dr. Geeta Dharmatti
Chief Bariatric Nutritionist at DOSS India Course FacultyDr.Geeta is the founder of Geeta NutriHeal Nutrition Consultancy. She is currently working as a Chief Bariatric Nutritionist at DOSS India, an Associate Professor and Phd Guide at Nutrition Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Chief Nutrigenomic Counsellor at Gene Support.She is Phd in Nutrition and Dietetics and her area of expertise are Critical Care, Bariatric, Nutrigenomics, Wellness and lIfestyle management.Dr.Geeta is the guest faculty at CCIH , Ayush Dept, Pune University.
