Dr. Soumyava Basu is a Uveitis and Retina consultant at L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) in Hyderabad, India, where he leads the Uveitis services across the LVPEI network. Trained in Mumbai and with retina fellowships from Shri Ganapati Netralaya and LVPEI, he has completed research sabbaticals with leading experts in ocular immunology and infectious disease. His research focuses on the role of infection and autoimmunity in ocular tuberculosis, supported by grants such as the DBT Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellowship. Dr. Anup completed MS Ophthalmology from GMC, Nagpur followed by one and a half year stint as a senior registrar in BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai. He later pursued a 2-year fellowship from Vitreo Retina and Uveitis in L V Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneshwar. Dr Kelgaonkar's core areas of interest are Uveitis and Advanced Vitreoretinal surgeries and he is actively involved in clinical research of Uveitis. Dr. Avinash Pathengay, Network Director of Education and head of the Standard Chartered - LVPEI Academy for Eye Care Education, has been instrumental in advancing ophthalmic education at LVPEI since 2001. His digital initiative, "Just A Minute (JAM) Clinical Pearls," has gained global acclaim, and he has further strengthened LVPEI’s programs with a digital emphasis. A retina specialist trained at prestigious institutions like Sankara Nethralaya and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Dr. Pathengay co-founded RETNETINDIA, a network of over 950 retinal surgeons. Dr. Mudit Tyagi, an accomplished clinician and surgeon, trained at Kasturba Medical College and B J Medical College before completing a long-term fellowship in retina and vitreous at L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad, where he now heads the Smt. Kanuri Santhamma Centre for Vitreo-Retinal Diseases. Specializing in complex retinal detachments, macular holes, and uveitis, he pioneered an innovative technique for retinal detachment and macular hole surgery that eliminates the need for strict post-operative positioning, benefitting elderly patients and those with physical limitations. This technique earned the Vitreo-Retinal Society of India’s Best Surgical Innovation award in 2019.
