Thereafter, he worked for two years at CMC, Ludhiana (Punjab University) as a Lecturer in Medicine before joining DM (Gastroenterology). Post completing his DM (Gastroenterology) from SGPGI, Lucknow in 1992, Dr. Puri joined GB Pant Hospital, Delhi as an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology and rose to the level of Professor and Head of Medical Gastroenterology Department where he worked for more than two decades before joining the Medanta.
