Circadian Rhythm Mediation of GERD-Related Quality of Life and its Implications for Chronotype-Specific Management

New research indicates that circadian preferences could influence the quality of life in GERD patients. A study involving 80 GERD patients and 72 healthy controls revealed that those with evening chronotypes, assessed using the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), reported lower quality of life scores (SF-36). The research suggests that circadian rhythm fully mediates GERD’s impact on well-being, highlighting the first evidence of chronotype’s role in GERD management.
