Exploring the Connection between Helicobacter pylori Antibodies and GERD

Recent studies have suggested a possible link between Helicobacter pylori infection and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), though the exact relationship remains unclear. A new two-sample Mendelian randomization study sought to explore whether Helicobacter pylori antibodies contribute to GERD development. The study found that higher levels of Helicobacter pylori IgG antibodies were associated with a slightly increased risk of GERD. However, the link was not observed for other antibodies. While promising, further research with larger sample sizes is needed to confirm these findings.
