Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE): Current Treatments and Emerging Biologic Therapies – A Comprehensive Overview

Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic immune-mediated disease presenting with esophageal dysfunction and eosinophilic infiltration. Its rising prevalence in children and adults is linked to genetic and environmental factors causing esophageal inflammation. Current guidelines recommend proton pump inhibitors, topical steroids, and elimination diets as first-line treatments. Recently, dupilumab approval has expanded therapeutic options. Additionally, investigational biologics targeting diverse immune pathways are under development, offering hope for better disease control and symptom relief in patients with this chronic and increasingly recognized disorder.
