Body mass index, comorbidities, oxygen demand and early hospital laboratory tests are enormously useful in predicting severe outcomes of Covid-19 in people infected with SARS CoV-2. According to the findings of a recent study by Dr. Sevda Molani and colleagues at ISB, Sweden, and published in the journal Scientific Reports, also pointed out that these risk factors that lead to severe cases and/or death vary significantly between younger and older patients. The study, which looked at the risk factors based on two age groups of hospitalised patients, examined electronic health records of more than 6,900 patients.
