ERR gamma protein new target to treat pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer

A protein known as estrogen-related receptor gamma is apparently critical for preventing pancreatic auto-digestion as found in mice model study and scientists have discovered that people with pancreatitis have lower levels of this protein in cells affected by this inflammation. The latest study, published  in the journal Gastroenterology, suggest that new therapies aimed at regulating ERR ɣ activity could help prevent or treat pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
