Lifestyle changes to combat allergy season
Amid recent study findings that 25 percent of adults in Britain have hay fever, medical experts in the UK have suggested some lifestyle changes to patients. The key suggestions include improvement of gut health, cutting down on junk food including sweet treats and fizzy drinks, and premedication. The medical experts suggest that since gut microbes produce short-chain fatty acids when they break down fibre that can regulate the way ‘mast cells’ work, it can be helpful in avoiding allergic reaction. In addition, they also pointed out that it is important to pre-medicate even before the allergy symptoms kick in.
