About This Course

Objective of the course: Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science (Autonomous) has taken its first leap in launching the SVT ONLINE PROGRAMS as part of Self Financed programs. This course has been developed with Academic Collaborators being- Geeta Nutri Heal Consultancy:Nutrition Consultancy & DOSS (Diabetes and Obesity Surgical Solution, Pune) and Technical collaborators being Docmode.

Advanced Bariatric Nutrition is an online course aimed to enable the students to develop professional competency in areas related to nutritional management and post-operative challenges in patients after bariatric surgery.

This six weeks online certificate course provides an intensive, self-paced, advanced learning in the field of Nutrition Care of Bariatrics. The course is designed by academicians, specialised nutritionists and bariatric surgeons from across the country. This course uses innovative methodologies which is the right blend of scientific information, research based recommendations and practical training through virtual case study discussions and webinars.

Dr. Jagmeet Madan
Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science Course Director and Faculty

Dr Jagmeet Madan is an eminent Nutritionist, Principal and Professor- Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics at Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science (Autonomous) , SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. She is the National President , Indian Dietetic Association (2019-2021). She is a gold medalist and recipient of ‘Young Scientist Award’ and ‘Dr Ramanathan Award’ by the Nutrition Society of India, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad. She is a recipient of the prestigious International Research Grant award - PNPG Grant (Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group – 2017) from American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, USA. She was awarded Maharishi Karve Uttakrishta Shishak Award - 2017 (Best Teacher Award) by the SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai.

Dr. Geeta Dharmatti
Chief Bariatric Nutritionist at DOSS India Course Faculty

Dr.Geeta is the founder of Geeta NutriHeal Nutrition Consultancy. She is currently working as a Chief Bariatric Nutritionist at DOSS India, an Associate Professor and Phd Guide at Nutrition Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Chief Nutrigenomic Counsellor at Gene Support.She is Phd in Nutrition and Dietetics and her area of expertise are Critical Care, Bariatric, Nutrigenomics, Wellness and lIfestyle management.Dr.Geeta is the guest faculty at CCIH , Ayush Dept, Pune University.

Dr. Neeraj Rayte

Dr.Neeraj is currently the Head of department of GI, Bariatric & Minimal Access surgery at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune. He has an experience of more than 26 years in the field of Gastrointestinal, Bariatric & Minimal Access surgery. He performed Pune’s first Robotic bariatric surgery and heaviest man (278 kg ) of Pune. Dr.Neeraj has performed more than 12000 laparoscopic surgeries till date with focus on Laparoscopic Hernia and Bariatric surgeries. He has several publications in reputed international journals and was invited as Faculty for many National and International conferences for live surgery as well as Oral presentations.

Dr. Satish Pattanshetti

Dr.Satish is the Senior Consultant in Department of GI, Bariatric & Minimal Access surgery at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune. He is a fellow of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery training from Taiwan and USA. He has an experienced of more than 14 years in the field of Bariatric and Metabolic surgery with Endoscopic Bariatric (Gastric Balloon) & Single port Laparoscopic surgery. Dr.Satish Performed Pune’s first Robotic bariatric surgery and heaviest man (278 kg) of Pune and has performed more than 9000 laparoscopic surgeries till date with focus on Laparoscopic Hernia and Bariatric surgeries.

Dr. Nisha Bellare

Dr.Nisha is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the M.Sc. Specialized Dietetics Department at Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science. She is a Ph.D in Nutrition and Dietetics and her area of interest is clinical nutrition. She is a JRF award holder and a Registered Dietitian from B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai and has a teaching experience of 9 years. Her areas of specialization include Dietetics and Human Nutrition.

DR. MEENAL SHRIVASTAV
Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science Course Faculty

Dr. Meenal Shrivastav, M.Sc., B.Ed. and Ph.D., is an alumnus of Lady Irwin College and presently teaching in Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science, S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai. She has more than ten years of experience in teaching Food and Nutrition to undergraduate and postgraduate students of University of Delhi. She specializes in Therapeutic Nutrition and Institutional Food Management. She has presented a number of research papers in national conferences. Her publications include research articles in journals, chapter in books and nutrition education modules. She has been associated with community as resource person for several workshops and training programmes.

Dr. Anuradha Ramesh
Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science Course coordinator and Faculty

Dr. Anuradha Ramesh, is Assistant Professor, Convener and Coordinator for Self Financed Programs in Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science(Autonomous), SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai.She has a Ph.D in Hospitality Management and has 20 years of teaching experience. Her areas of expertise are in Nutrition, Food science, Food Service Management and Hospitality Management subjects. She has designed curriculum for Nutrition and Hospitality Management specialisation courses for various colleges.

Dietitians who are self-employed, consulting and Practicing with pre required qualifications and minimum two year work experience.
Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics with experience in clinical settings of multi-specialty hospital with a minimum of two year work experience.

The course consists of recordings of the lectures by faculty, Webinars and Discussions, Handouts for reference and assignments for each unit.

USD $49 (INR 3400)

After the registration and document verification is completed, you can make the fee payment. Once you are enrolled for the course, you will have access to the lectures and assignments. However, after completing one unit you need to clear the assignment/assessment for that unit. The minimum marks for clearing the unit is 40 % marks. Then you can have access to the next unit.

Basics of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics.

You will receive a e-Certificate for Online Course in Advanced Bariatric Nutrition after the completion of course and clearing all the required assignments/ assessments.

For applicants with Master’s degree, work experience is not necessary. However, applicants with Post Graduate Diploma should have an experience in clinical settings with minimum of two year work experience in a multi- specialty hospital. Kindly refer to the eligibility criteria for the course.
