About this Course

Choroiditis is characterized by a wide variety of manifestations that can range from unifocal to multifocal to diffuse lesions. These lesions are often confused with non-choroiditis lesions – both inflammatory and non-inflammatory. In this course, we will cover choroiditis with a more holistic approach than generally found in meetings and textbooks.

Meet the Faculty

Prof. Amod Gupta is the doyen of uveitis in India. He retired as the director of PGIMER, Chandigarh in 2017, where he was also instrumental in setting up the Advanced Eye Centre. During his chequered career, he made path-breaking contributions to uveitis and retina, especially to ocular tuberculosis. This includes identifying the link between serpiginous-like choroiditis and TB infection. He is a fantastic teacher and has inspired many generations of ophthalmologists, and continues to do so, with unmatched passion.

Dr Avinash Pathengay is consultant in vitreo-retina and uveitis at the GMRV Campus of LV Prasad Eye Institute, and Director, Academy for Eye Care Education. He has published extensively on infectious endophthalmitis and various forms of infectious uveitis. He has been the 'teacher of teachers' for the LVPEI uveitis service and continues to be actively involved in fellowship training in retina and uveitis.
