Two centuries ago, the U.S. Public Health Service, of which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is an important part, started as a maritime hospital in the City of New York. To prevent the spread of infectious disease was the mission of this organization. As we celebrate the advancements in modern technologies, it cannot be denied that there is still no treatment for the recent outbreak of the coronavirus infection

As much as it is public responsibility reducing the transmission of infectious disease to a minimum is the most important function of the public health law. It is not known to all but clearly defined legal authorities at a national level are required to acknowledge outbreaks of serious and contagious diseases. The response and exercise of powers will, of course, vary according to the seriousness of the disease, the way it is transmitted and how contagious it is. As a precautionary move against the coronavirus infection, the Indian central government declared an interim suspension of the e-visa for travelers from china nd neighboring countries and issued a new advisory that mentioned that people who have traveled to China since the 15th of Jan can be detained or quarantined.

Although people with symptoms of the virus are being held under surveillance, India has successfully evacuated its citizens from the home country of the coronavirus. In Manesar, near Delhi, the Indian Army has set up quarantine centers to hold those withdrawn from China’s virus-hit region. They would be checked by a trained team of doctors and staff members for any signs of infection for a fortnight. To control the spread of infectious diseases like coronavirus, mandatory treatment orders can be passed and individual liberty can be limited to the extent that is required to prevent them from passing the disease to others. In spite of all these measures and precaution measures taken by the government and the public, there is not much that is reducing the rate of infection. As of 2 February, 2, 58,658 commuters from 445 flights were screened for symptoms of coronavirus. The isolation facilities were referred to a total of 142 symptomatic travelers picked up through the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, the health ministry informed.

The world is in a sad state of helplessness as the coronavirus infection is spreading rapidly, killing people along the way and thereby increasing pressure on scientists and those in authority to discover vaccinations at the earliest before this situation elevates to become a pandemic.
