Over the past 15-20 years, significant advancements in heart failure pharmacotherapies have been made, but the global healthcare challenge remains. Optimizing guideline-directed chronic HF medical therapy is crucial for improving outcomes. However, many patients are treated with lower doses than proven efficacy in clinical trials, and many do not receive all drug classes that could improve their prognosis. The European Society of Cardiology guidelines lack detailed recommendations for implementing these drug classes in inpatient treatment. A practical approach algorithm is proposed to support physicians in treating HF patients.
