Healthcare Tech at the Center of HealthCare

The medical profession is in the midst of a massive transition, fueled by a mixture of legislation and rapid adjustment. In the rapid growth of telehealth and healthcare technology, this pattern has been most noticeable. The full effect of telehealth, however, is still not understood to us. Is it going to be nice for physicians and patients? For others, access to treatment that would otherwise be difficult due to restricted travel, unreasonable distance, and other prohibitive costs would mean access to care. However, the dangers, including the possibility for missed diagnosis and physical examination outcomes, remain a concern. But one thing is for sure, Healthcare tech will help to alleviate doctors’ workload and outcomes. The healthcare industry (also referred to as digital health) is increasingly growing. According to Rock Health, the first half of 2020 saw a record $5.4B investment in the sector in the US alone, amid the global COVID-19 pandemic. Healthtech devices are developed to fix healthcare issues related to

  • Improving results for patients
  • Lowering spending on healthcare
  • Increasing access to insurance and access to care
  • Improving the experience of patients and doctors.

Doctors have a strong understanding of concerns within the healthcare system that they have encountered and experienced. And they also have a clear understanding of the workings of the healthcare system and who the main players are. Healthcare technology will make physicians very well suited to the creation of health products and technologies that will not only address specific healthcare problems but will also be embraced and accepted by other healthcare professionals.

In healthcare, increasingly sophisticated EHRs, increasing patients’ digital access, the explosion of personalized medicine, and widespread adaptation of artificial intelligence will characterize the coming years. In the new age, all will be healthcare tech and all still hold many unknowns. It will require us to think beyond the path of least resistance to make sure these healthcare techs fulfill their intended function. Instead, intentional nature must be included in new interventions that take into account the effect of innovation on all major stakeholders, including the doctors.
